The Children Hospital Albert ROYER born of a Memorandum of Understanding signed on 18 February 1977 between Senegal and Canada.
It has been fully funded by the Canadian Cooperation and was officially opened on 22 May 1981.
This hospital is named after a famous Canadian pediatrician who was an assistant professor from 1950 to 1953 at the University of Montreal.
With the departure of Canadians, 31 December 1996, the Children's Hospital was completely taken over by the Senegalese state. Was regulated by Decree No. 74-1082 of 11/04/1974 on the regulation of hospital units. But since Aug. 27, 1999, Decree No. 99-853 spent the erection of the Hospital Hospital Establishment of Public Health in accordance with Law No. 98-08 of 02/03/1998 concerning hospital reform

The C.H.N.E.A.R. is a highly specialized institution where supported, medically, the children aged zero (0) to fifteen (15) years.
The C.H.N.E.A.R. Its mission is to assure the public hospital service by promoting equitable access to care for all patients, diagnosis, monitoring and treatment on the basis of hospitalizations and outpatient visits.
It has a national scope and also helps the teaching of pediatrics and medical research.
In the framework of the reform, new instances are created or to be created to meet the demands of health-oriented policy for all and demands of modern society that requires medicine more effective.
